Fleet Models  |  OCTAVIA

Simple calculation: petrol plus electricity equals plug-in hybrid

It is one of the ŠKODA brand’s bestsellers, particularly in the fleet segment – the OCTAVIA. Now in its fourth generation, the compact car offers more different drive options than ever before, thus ensuring its status as a true all-rounder when it comes to the various uses. In addition to the highly modern diesel and petrol powertrains, it is also offered as a mild hybrid (fuel consumption in l/100 km: combined 4.7 – 4.2; CO2 emissions in g/km: combined 107 – 96; efficiency class: A – A+) as well as natural gas vehicle (fuel consumption in kg/100 km: urban 4.6 – 4.5, extra-urban 2.9 – 2.7, combined 3.5 – 3.4; CO2 emissions in g/km: combined 96 – 93; efficiency class: A+) – and available with plug-in hybrid drive: as OCTAVIA iV (fuel consumption in l/100 km: combined 1.2; power consumption in kWh/100 km: combined 11.1; CO2 emissions in g/km: combined 28; efficiency class: A+) as well as OCTAVIA COMBI iV (fuel consumption in l/100 km: combined 1.4; power consumption in kWh/100 km: combined 11.6; CO2 emissions in g/km: combined 31; efficiency class: A+).

Not to mention both of the sporty RS versions

  • OCTAVIA RS iV
fuel consumption in l/100 km: combined 1.5; power consumption in kWh/100 km: combined 11.2; CO2 emissions in g/km: combined 33; efficiency class: A+

  • OCTAVIA COMBI RS iV
fuel consumption in l/100 km: combined 1.5; power consumption in kWh/100 km: combined 11.4; CO2 emissions in g/km: combined 34; efficiency class: A+

Simple charging: socket or wall box
While in the WLTP cycle, both drive from 52 to 69 kilometres CO2-free1) and thus achieve in combination with the combustion engine a very low CO2 emissions. The battery can easily be charged using a common household socket or a wall box. Connected to a 230 V socket, it recharges within approx. 3 hours and 45 minutes from zero to 80 per cent, after approx. 5 hours it achieves a charge level of 100 per cent. This process is even faster with a 3.6 kW wall box, with the battery achieving a level of 80 per cent after just approx. 2 hours and 33 minutes; and being completely recharged after approx. one more hour. The charging connection is located on the driver’s side behind a flap on the front wing panel, which can be opened with a button in the door trim. In addition to the drive battery, the OCTAVIA iV has a 12 V battery in the luggage compartment. This battery powers the low-voltage systems on board.

Simply select: electric or hybrid
Selecting the mode and driving profile happens intuitively via Drive Mode Selection, which is already a familiar feature in other ŠKODA vehicles. In the OCTAVIA iV, the driving profile means the option of selecting between Eco, Normal, Sport and Individual as well as Comfort, which is only available in conjunction with the adaptive chassis control DCC. They allow settings to be adjusted – such as on the steering rack and with respect to the engine or gearbox control system. Moreover, when it comes to switching between the e-mode and hybrid mode, the driver can access the driving profile selection (Drive Mode Select) in the Infotainment-Display.

Simply dynamic: up to to 140 km/h in e-mode
In the e-mode, the OCTAVIA iV is completely powered by electricity, therefore this setting is ideal for driving in the city. If the battery is sufficiently recharged and the outside temperature is above -10 degrees Celsius, then the vehicle will start directly in the electric drive mode. The purely electric drive delivers a performance of 80 kW, the maximum speed in this mode amounts to 140 km/h.

Optional equipment. Vehicle shown may deviate from the actual series product.

1) Range determined on the chassis dynamometer according to the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP) in the most range efficient equipment variant for the models mentioned. The actual WLTP range figures can vary depending on the vehicle’s equipment. In practice, the actual range also varies depending on driving style, speed, use of comfort/ancillary features, ambient temperature, number of passengers/loading and topography.
