Cross is part of a new generation of Volkswagen small and compact cars: consistently focused on its own strengths and tailored even more closely to a wide range of customer requirements. In terms of quality, comfort and equipment, it also sets new standards for the segment. We take a closer look at this development in the ID. Cross a good option \u2013 and an all-electric one at that. Compared with its conventionally powered sister model, the T-Cross, the compact model actually offers more space for drivers and passengers as well as luggage. The electric SUV offers up to 475 litres of stowage space, up to 20 litres more than the combustion-engine model. This is made possible by an additional area beneath the variable luggage compartment floor, which can accommodate up to two crates of drinks. Cross brings a fresh look to the compact SUV segment: Volkswagen calls its new design language \u201cPure Positive\u201d; it conveys visual stability while also creating a friendly appearance: Characteristic elements such as the elongated \u201cflying roof\u201d, the strong C-pillar and distinctive light signatures at the front and rear define its appearance. The light signatures are even more striking when the optional IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights and 3D LED rear lights with illuminated LED crossbars and illuminated VW logos are included in the specification. The clear design continues consistently in the interior: Details include the fabric-covered dash panel and refined controls such as the outer edge of the audio controls in the centre console. The Digital Cockpit Pro has a screen diagonal of 26.0 cm (10.25 inches) and offers an interesting feature for fans of the classic Golf from the 1980s: At the press of a button on the multifunction steering wheel, the \u201cretro display\u201d can be selected and the instruments of a Golf I appear in the Digital Cockpit Pro. In this case, there is a classic speedometer on the left and a rev counter on the right. However, in the ID. Cross it does not show engine speed; instead, the power display shows the energy output or input of the electric drive. Other modern functions such as the Dynamic Road Sign Display are of course also integrated into the retro layout.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The infotainment system\u2019s large touch display, positioned in the centre of the dash panel, has a screen diagonal of 32.8 cm (12.9 inches).
