VodafoneZiggo (NL) is pressing ahead with the electrification of its service fleet. The company recently decided in favour of the Volkswagen ID. Buzz, based on feedback from its own engineers.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

VodafoneZiggo is taking an important step in its electrification roadmap. The company launched a pilot project back in 2022 with ten fully electric vehicles. Following its successful conclusion, further vehicles of the same model followed in 2023 and 2024. However, the engineers found that the range of the existing model was hindering their work. They wanted a longer range so that they would spend less time at charging stations and more time with customers.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

VodafoneZiggo responded and opted for the Volkswagen ID. Buzz for the fourth and, thus far, largest electrification batch in 2025. The ID. Buzz offers a WLTP range of up to 461 km and thus addresses the main criticism levelled by the engineers. Marco Houtman, Director at VodafoneZiggo, emphasised the importance of this step at the handover of the first vehicles to engineers Marvin Brouwer and Rick van Lieshout. The new ID. Buzz, it would seem, was welcomed with open arms by the employees.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]However, the change brought with it a new challenge: The ID. Buzz offers roughly 25% less storage volume than the previous vehicle used. Instead of seeing this as an obstacle, it was viewed as an opportunity to find an optimised solution. Together with the company\u2019s own engineers and a upgrading partner, a vehicle configuration was designed that allows the available space to be used more efficiently.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]The new fleet is rounded off by a digital logbook, which makes everyday work noticeably easier \u2013 especially when it comes to taxes. This is also part of modern fleet management: fewer pieces of paper, greater clarity. The new design demonstrates that this change is not only technical in nature. In the future, the vehicles will feature VodafoneZiggo\u2019s new corporate look: discreet, minimalist and electric. From the company\u2019s point of view, it is more than a rebranding.
