The Volkswagen Group is aiming to be net carbon-neutral by 2050 at the latest, an objective that naturally also includes its more than 17,000 dealerships and service locations worldwide. The goTOzero RETAIL (GTZR) initiative aims to support these operations in reducing their environmental impact. Some 45 markets are already taking part in the GTZR programme and therefore making an important contribution the Group\u2019s regenerate+ strategy<\/a>.<\/h2>\n

In other words, even the smallest detail is important. In the case of the Volkswagen Group, this by no means \u2018only\u2019 refers to the emissions during the usage phase of a vehicle or the carbon footprint of the supply chain, production and logistics.[\/vc_column_text]\n\n

\n\tThe goTOzero RETAIL certification involves assessing about 70 environmental criteria, which the retail partners can influence directly. <\/strong><\/div>[vc_column_text css=””]With the goTOzero environmental model, the Volkswagen Group is also focusing on its extensive network of dealerships and service partners spread across more than 150 countries worldwide. For their part too, these locations ultimately have enormous influence on the environment \u2013 whether through resource consumption, CO\u2082 emissions or soil sealing.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]<\/p>\n

\n\tThe first operations have already achieved the Gold certification level, with the plan being to have more than 100 operations certified by the end of 2024. <\/strong><\/div>[vc_column_text css=””]\u2026 which was developed as part of the Volkswagen Group\u2019s sustainability strategy and aims to reduce the impact of the entire sales network on the environment. Participating dealers are shown how they can measure their current environmental impact in order to improve their environmental footprint. This also includes an integrated certification methodology for assessing the environmental performance of dealerships and service partners.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]Aside from aspects of the energy efficiency of buildings or contents from environmental management systems, such as ISO 14001, the cross-brand programme also assesses industry-specific indicators, including workshop operation, customer interactions or environmental aspects of vehicles sold.[\/vc_column_text]\n\n

A range of resources are made available to dealerships and service partners that are seeking certification, including special calculation tools, manuals, online training modules and other tools, which can provide targeted support for them in optimising their environmental footprint.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]The actual auditing in the context of goTOzero RETAIL is carried out by trained auditors in a multi-stage process. The first step is to inspect the relevant data, after which the operations are scrutinised during an on-site visit.
