\u201cElectric mobility is great in theory \u2026\u201d Fleet managers still hear this a lot, and many of the cons in practice are to do with processing the charging. What happens when the RFID reader at the charging station doesn\u2019t work, the driver doesn\u2019t have their charging card, or the app can\u2019t start the charging process because there\u2019s no network coverage? These are all perfectly understandable complaints that fleet managers can now simply refute thanks to the integration of Plug&Charge in the LOGPAY offering.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u2026 because this smart solution dispenses with all of the above: once the cable is plugged in, the e-car authenticates itself at the charging station and shares all relevant information with it via the ISO 15118 secure communication standard.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

To use Plug&Charge, the e-car must have a software version that supports Plug&Charge, such as that featured as standard currently in the ID.4 and the Audi Q6 e-tron, for example; a charging tariff compatible with Plug&Charge is also required.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Authentication and payment information need only be saved once in the vehicle. Convenient charging is then available at currently 4,000 (and counting) Plug&Charge-compatible charging points (including all IONITY quick-charging stations) in 24 European countries \u2013 from Germany to Lithaunia, from Norway to Spain. A quick look at the Charge&Fuel app tells you which charging points support the new system.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Incidentally, it\u2019s not only field service employees who enjoy simplified charging thanks to Plug&Charge \u2013 office-based employees, or rather fleet managers, also benefit. As is the case with Charge&Fuel, fleet managers still receive an invoice at the end of the month with a consolidated list of all expenses.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
