The green light for the large-scale international project \u201cCombustion-free fleet\u201d was given as far back as 2017. And the results achieved in the intervening six years are impressive. Looking towards Sweden where Vattenfall is the distribution network operator with responsibility for ensuring national security of supply for the entire territory: At the beginning of December 2022, the first ID. Ultimately, in what is the third largest country in Europe in terms of area size, not only do very long distances have to be covered for maintenance and assembly work; rather the ID. Buzz Cargo can also expect challenges in terms of vehicle load capacity, towing capacity and weather conditions. Change of scene: A somewhat easier but no less important job awaits the all-electric van in the Netherlands, where the ID. And where not only the award-winning building constructed in a wood-hybrid style reveals how staunchly the Swedish energy group is addressing the topic of sustainability. This is also clear from the umpteen e-bikes parked and charging in the generously sized bike room, and from the charging option available in every single parking space in the underground car park reserved for service vehicles &#8230; as aptly described in the words of management: \u201cWe are gradually leaving the age of the combustion engine behind us\u201d, sums up Fabian Hagemann (pictured below left), Vice President E-Mobility at Vattenfall GmbH in a nutshell. And just as widely accepted was the change in the car policy, which now only allows purely battery-electric vehicle models. After all, a one-size-fits-all approach makes little economic sense. Our service employees don\u2019t always need maximum range, maximum load capacity and maximum towing capacity. Now we know precisely what we need for what.\u201d[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Starting under optimum conditions \u2013<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>in Europe\u2019s largest charging network<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]With this in mind, Berliner Dependance is now adopting the Swedish model and has already ordered three ID. Buzz Cargo vans following a successful pilot project. Boasting extensive special fixtures, it is to be used almost as a mobile tool box for maintenance jobs on lines and cables in and around the German capital Berlin. \u201cThe excellent range for a battery-electric vehicle makes the job easier\u201d, says Melanie Schneider positively. If there is a need to charge on the road \u2013 especially with a view to even more intensive use of electric commercial vehicles \u2013 Vattenfall employees can also access Europe\u2019s largest charging network of Volkswagen subsidiary Elli. Interesting to note: Vattenfall is also an active player in this respect, as Alfred Hoffmann, Head of Sales E-Mobility Germany at Vattenfall GmbH, explains: \u201cAt the end of last year, we connected a total of 24,000 of our own charging stations to the network of Volkswagen subsidiary Elli in Germany, the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden. This means that Volkswagen customers can also charge quickly and conveniently in these countries using the Charge&amp;Fuel Card\u00b2\u207e from LogPay.
