Fortunate, therefore, those whose company cars are equipped with good assist technologies that can provide support (not just) in precarious situations. This is also the opinion of the European New Car Assessment Programme, or NCAP for short, which is known for its crash test procedures. For a number of years now, vehicle testers have been scrutinising the area of convenience and assist systems more closely, too. Recently tested: the new ID.5 with Travel Assist \u2013 and with impressive results.\u00b9\u207e \u00b2\u207e<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<div class=\"question-answer-modul abstractContentComponent parbase section\">\n<div class=\"iv-modul__question\">\n<div class=\"iv-modul__question\">\n<div class=\"question-answer-modul abstractContentComponent parbase section\">\n<div class=\"iv-modul__question\">\n<div class=\"iv-modul__question\">\n<div class=\"iv-modul__head\">\n<div class=\"iv-modul__head-text-right span_4_of_12 h-float-right\">\n<p><b>Top marks<\/b><br \/>\nAs part of their additional test procedures, the testers certified that the assist systems in the all-electric SUV Coup\u00e9 offer optimum convenience and an excellent assist standard. Euro NCAP highlights the following in its assessment: \u201cThe Volkswagen ID.5 offers very good vehicle assistance. Combined with excellent safety support, the system offers very good support in general \u2013 especially on the motorway.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;26344&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221;][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Within the limits of the system, \u2026<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u201cTravel Assist with Swarm Data\u201d can actively keep the vehicle in its lane and maintain a minimum distance to the vehicle in front as well as the maximum speed set by the driver. Adaptive lane guidance is one of the features used by the system to do this. This actively keeps the vehicle in the middle of the lane. However, \u201cTravel Assist with Swarm Data\u201d adapts to your driving style too and can also drive further to the left or right in its own lane instead of exactly in the middle.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<div class=\"owl-item\">\n<figure><figcaption><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong style=\"letter-spacing: 0px;\">On the motorway, \u2026<\/strong><\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"owl-item active\">\n<figure><figcaption><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u201cTravel Assist with Swarm Data\u201d can actively support lane changes, if required, from a speed of 90 km\/h. If activated, the lane change can be initiated and activated with the one-touch indicator function. A prerequisite here is that the sensors have not detected any objects in their vicinity and the capacitive steering wheel senses the driver\u2019s hands. The vehicle then independently steers into the required lane. The driver can intervene at any time and take over the manoeuvre.<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;26346&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<div class=\"textimage abstractContentDialogComponent abstractContentComponent parbase section\">\n<div class=\"textmedia textmedia--right h-clearfix\">\n<div class=\"textmedia__inner\">\n<div class=\"textmedia__text \">\n<p>The assist system also includes predictive cruise control and cornering assistance. The vehicle speed can be adapted to the relevant speed limits and road layouts (bends, roundabouts etc.). At the end of this period, the initial period of use of the online component of \u201cTravel Assist with Swarm Data\u201d of 3 years starts (free of charge). Use of the online component of \u201cTravel Assist with Swarm Data\u201d is enabled via an integrated Internet connection. The associated data costs incurred within Europe are covered by Volkswagen AG within the limits of the network coverage. Additional costs (e.g. roaming charges) may be incurred as a result of data exchange via the Internet, depending on your particular mobile phone tariff and in particular when using the system abroad.
